thread and sinew-sewn; uniquely and colorfully beaded with a red backdrop; the pictorial scene recounts the actions of a Sioux man fighting off a horse raiding party of capote wearing individuals; the scene is set within a village, depicted by the four tipis on both the front and back. The front of the vest depicts a Sioux man on horseback fighting off one of the charging raiders, who is also riding a horse and firing a rifle as he charges; the back shows the hooded raiders stealing the prized ponies that have been kept within the village, and 10 evenly spaced pipes
